Bluey is a family dog who looks after his kids taking them out to local places and teaching them about the plants, animals and natural landscapes in the area. The guest house manager tells me this is how his father and fathers in Australia often spend them time and weekends with their kids. It was very different to how kids grow up in Korea. I couldn’t plan any games, watch cartoons so much or go anywhere. My parents just worked and I studied and I could draw pictures to relax. I guess that’s what make me the artist I am today. Seeing kids everywhere having fun, at the theme parks on the Gold Coast, running around in the park behind the guest house every afternoon. At the shopping malls with their parents. It’s totally opposite from Korea. It does make me wonder if I could stay in Brisbane, would my life be like this? Bluey is a great father to his family.
