I took us 1 year to have this book MADE IN BRISBANE - Keowa Koala Dowa Guide Chapters 1 & 2 book combo
It was last September when we started this adventure with the story coming to mind and our pens and pastels going down onto paper to start writing and drawing the first chapter of Welcome to Brisbane Keowa Koala: Dowa Guide.
We originally planned to make it all into one book but we found out in December 2025 that it was too expensive to print out the entire book. Around $50 per book to print, so retail price in Australia would have to over $100, which is a bit of a tall order at this stage. So we changed our plans from printing one single book to launching each chapter as an eBook (available here, Southbank Markets and on amazon.com) and when it came to printing we decided to bundle Chapter 1 and 2 into a combo book. We felt this gave readers the best value. The pages are A4 sized 1:1 scale prints of the original @ddasuhan artwork. So really you're getting a @ddasuhan art gallery of Brisbane city in each Keowa Koala Dowa Guide book.
It took almost 4 months to receive the printed 125 copies of this book Made in Brisbane's oldest Book Publishing House: Clark & Mackay since 1928 (almost 100 years old). You'll notice this first run will have a "MADE IN BRISBANE" sticker on it. Consider this first edition.
The next print run editions will have the Made in Brisbane sign printed inside the book. So if you find one with the "MADE IN BRISBANE" sticker on it, you know you have one of the original 125 x 1st editions. It was really an after thought to put the sticker on realizing that we forgot to have it printed inside the book. We really wanted it made in Brisbane, with all future dowa guides being made in their respective featured city/country, after all a Dowa Guide proudly shows the city it covers.
Chapters 5 and 6 is the next combo book we hope it will be made before the end of this year 2026.
