Welcome to Brisbane: Clark & Mackay Publishing

Welcome to Brisbane: Clark & Mackay Publishing

It's coming time to start publishing the chapters of Welcome to Brisbane. So I've decided to go to Brisbane's oldest book publisher: Clark and Mackay, since 1928. I'm yet to still produce chapters 3 and 4, so while I'm drawing up those chapters, I plan on publishing The book will be sold as smaller books with each chapter being its own book. I plan on releasing each chapter one at a time throughout 2026 firstly as eBooks and later as physical books.

The first chapter I will release is Chapter 2: Guest House hopefully before April.

Chapter 2 features the Guest House I was staying at. I hope to bundle it with Chapter 1 Lone Pine to give everyone two chapters of Welcome to Brisbane at the same time. I hope you love them.

This was the second time I was able to see someone's reaction to my book. It was another really great day, and you'll also find this scene in Chapter 8: credits of the Dowa Guide.

To commemorate the experience I decided to draw Jason the managing director of Clark and Mackey a special ddasuhan featuring him holding the Welcome to Brisbane book with the book's characters in the hot air balloon that's featured on the front cover of Chapter 8. The hot air balloon to me is a symbol of hope that no matter our situation now or where we are in our journey, what we hope to dream is just over there. We just got to keep going, and one day we will arrive at our destination. I'm sure publishing the book is going to be long journey and I've still got so many pages to draw but I look forward to the day when it's all done and out there for everyone to see and enjoy. A whole book of ddasuhan drawings. That's one of my dreams and I hope you are all on the way to where you dream to be one day.

On my last day in Brisbane, I went to the publisher to present this new ddasuhan, featuring our signature hot air balloon with Keowa, Rocky, Ddasuhan, Tour Guide and The Managing Director of the Publishing House - Jason. This artwork also features as the cover page of Chapter 8: Credits of the Welcome to Brisbane Series, You will find a scene with us at the publisher in the story.

Jason wasn't in at the moment so Doug received the ddasuhan instead on behalf of the company.

I'm heading back to Korea now, but I will be looking forward to seeing Chapters 1 and 2 published as ebooks soon. I'm really excited. Thank you for all your hard work and looking after my artworks.

Sincerely,

Jisu Sang (ddasuhan)
